History/Info:
Originally located on Table Bluff at the south side of the entrance to Humboldt Bay along California's northern coast, this 35 foot tower, which was attached to a two-story, Victorian keeper's dwelling, replaced the 1856 lighthouse which sat on the bay's North Spit. It was moved to its present location by Ray Glavich and other volunteers sometime after it was abandoned in 1975. It has been beautifully restored and sits in the Woodley Island Marina for all to enjoy.

Personal Note:
While in the area of Eureka and Table Bluff lighthouse you must make a trip to the Samoa Cookhouse. Here's a snippet from their web page:

"Once you walk through our doors, you will take a step back into the early days of the lumber and logging industry. As the last surviving Cookhouse in the west, all meals are still served "Lumber Camp" Style. Your food is brought piping hot to the table in large bowls and platters, allowing you to help yourself and pass it around. We always offer seconds, so no one walks away from the table hungry! After eating in one of our traditional dining rooms, you're is welcome to browse our complimentary museum full of relics and photographs from the old logging and Cookhouse days."

• Take US 101 north into Eureka.
• Follow the signs for SR255. At the lights, take a left onto SR255.
• Once across the first bridge, you'll be on a small island. Take that exit and follow the roads to the marina. The lighthouse is at the end of the parking lot on the left. Can't miss it.
