History/Info:
Originally built in 1851, the light was deactivated but again reactivated in 1987. The town of Islesboro currently owns the lighthouse and surrounding buildings and the keeper's house is now a museum. Visitors have easy access to the small light tower.
The lighthouse is located on the western side of Islesboro Island and can be easily reached by a ferry ride from Lincolnville.

Hours:
The keeper's house is a museum which is open to the public. You can also climb the small tower and walk around the lantern room. Exact hours they're open is uknown.

Grindle Point Light cannot be seen from the mainland but you can take a ferry to it from Lincolnville, just north of Camden.

• From Camden, take Route 1 north for about 5.5 miles. You will come to the ferry terminal which is on the right (northbound) side of the road. There is parking available and you can buy tickets for the ferry there.
