History/Info:
Ten Pound Island light sits in Gloucester harbor. In 1956 the lighthouse was decommissioned and the fresnel lens removed. The house and building, over years of neglect, were in ruins. Eventually the ownership of the light and building fell under the town of Gloucester and, through the efforts of the Lighthouse Preservation Society, the lighthouse tower was repaired and restored, and finally relit.

The lighthouse can be viewed from land but best views are by boat.
